MiVo (short for Ministry as Vocation) is a program focused on providing support, encouragement, resources and mentoring to students who are sensing a call into ministry as a career either ordained or lay. There are three main components of the program: a monthly Sunday lunch and small group discussion, a ministry mentor, and serving in ministry.
The monthly lunch will consist of time to eat and relax followed by a talk by a minister on the topic of that session that includes the minister's personal story of their vocational call. The session will conclude with some time for small group discussion and application.
Each student will be paired with a ministry mentor who will meet for an hour at least once every two months with the student to reflect on ministry and talk about all the questions the students experienceandallowstudentsto"tagalong" as they ministerwhereappropriate.
The ministry service component will involve each student being asked to serve in a leadership role in some area of the Youth Ministry. Students are encouraged to try different areas from year to year to help discern their specific call.
All Meetings (unless otherwise noted) are in the youth area Lunch Meetings will follow the 10:40 Sunday Morning Service.
